In a unexpected partnership that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the formal release, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses resonate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a clandestine group.

The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Changes

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Features

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside numerous items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

Newest Free Story Update

This patch also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "The Enigma."
